Groups
Humana’s Community Counselling team offers a number of free support groups for youth and caregivers throughout the year. Each group is designed to address specific mental health challenges that a young person or family is facing, with information tailored to the age of participants.
Group size is limited and advance registration is required. See below for more information on current and upcoming groups and how to register.

Healthy Relationships Plus - Youth ages 15-18 years
Tuesdays, October 3, 2023 - January 30, 2024
6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
For youth to learn about heathy communication, safety planning, dating violence, personal rights & responsibilities, and how to set healthy boundaries.

Compassion Focused Therapy: "I Have My Back" - Youth ages 16-18 years
Tuesdays, February 6 - April 23, 2024
6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.
For youth to develop capacity in understanding how to give and receive compassion. Youth will learn to feel their way through situations and experiences while developing their ability to apply skills needed to manage feelings.

Compassion Focused Therapy Parent Group
Wednesdays, February 7 - April 24, 2024
6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.
For caregivers experiencing challenges with a teen who may struggle to manage emotions and make positive choices, feeling disconnection, high levels of stress and burnout.

Smooth Sailing Group - Youth ages 12-16 years
Tuesdays, May 7 - June 25, 2024
6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.
For youth to develop coping strategies and emotion regulation as they navigate through life’s “rough waters.” Youth will learn to guide their own emotional “ship” to smooth sailing and enhanced well-being.
