Compensation: Starting wage range $18.05 - $23.16 according to job assignment

Location: London, Strathroy, and Parkhill, ON

Schedule: Varied shifts; including evenings, weekends, overnights, and public holidays

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Positions involve working in short-term live-in treatment settings providing 24/7 support to children and youth

  • Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships and attend to the diverse needs of youth

  • Provide a safe and supportive environment for participants experiencing mental health diagnoses; remain calm and focused in crisis situations while utilizing effective de-escalation and decision-making skills

  • Work with community social workers and other community partners to support involvement in person-centred programs that promote educational, behavioural, developmental, psychological, and emotional growth 

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Human, Community, and/or Social Services (e.g., SSW, CYC, Police Foundations)

  • Minimum six (6) months of related experience supporting people with mental health diagnosis is preferred

  • Demonstrated understanding of support requirements specific to the roles and responsibilities of the job

  • Proficiency in both verbal and written communication

  • Strong mentorship, advocacy, organization, communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills, in addition to attention to detail while multi-tasking

  • Ability to work collaboratively with the team, and independently as necessary

  • Capacity to establish, implement, and maintain professional, and personal boundaries

  • Multilingualism and having diverse lived experiences are considered assets

  • Valid Class G (full) Driver’s License with a 3-year Uncertified Driver Record (mandatory)

  • Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check with Humana listed as the employer (mandatory)

  • Physical Health assessment: verification of up-to-date immunizations, COVID vaccination status (2 doses), and ability to meet the physical requirements of the position (mandatory)

  • Current Standard First Aid & CPR (mandatory) *Level C with AED training preferred
